Is the art of a good opening scene making a comeback?
You Don’t Own MeWritten by John Madara, Dave White (as David Ernest White) Performed by Deep Sea Diver with Natalie Closner. Probably not, but a couple of movies I’ve seen recently have been good and 'Don't Move' was one of them. It’s a tense little scene that gets a little going, but more than that sets up the rest of the movie.
It manages to make it work – simple
It sets up information that will be used later and sets up the characters perfectly. My main concern when I read the synopsis for this movie was if they would be able to stretch it to 90 minutes. The film uses some good creativity to stretch things out and keep the film feeling fresh as things progress.
This is a good thriller with some good moments along the way
I don’t think they could have pulled off another 15-20 minutes, and they were smart to keep the runtime the length they did. The X-Factor may not have had enough to stick with me for long, but there are certainly worse ways to spend 90 minutes. 7/10..
