Synopsis
In the midst of an international crisis, Kate Wyler, a career diplomat, lands a high-profile job she’s unprepared for, with tectonic implications for her marriage and political future. Producers persuaded the US and British governments to allow them to use real-life sets as locations for the series, including the still new US embassy (at Nine Elms) which opened in 2018.

The only unavailable location was Winfield House, the royal residence of the American ambassador. Although it is accurately described as occupying the largest residential plot (11 hectares) in London other than Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming purposes.

The Diplomat has everything you want from a great series… The series follows a diplomat (Keri Russell) who has a new job as ambassador to the United Kingdom following an international crisis when an aircraft carrier is attacked.
I liked this series so much that I watched all eight episodes in one weekend
She also has to deal with her husband (Rufus Sewell), already a political star, and their unstable marriage. It did so well and was so well received that it has already earned an early renewal for another season.
